What is the Holding Deposit?

The holding deposit secures your interest in the room and is credited as your first 2 weeks of rent when the lease agreement is signed and keys are collected.

What is the Bond Payment?

The bond is sent to the Residential Tenancy Authority (RTA) where it is held until after you vacate the property. The RTA will then return your bond monies to you less any amounts you may owe to Hive, such as unpaid rent or damages, at the end of your lease. Moving Out

Can I return my keys after hours?

Yes, there is an after hour’s key drop box however it is preferred for keys to be returned during office hours. If keys are returned to the drop box after hours, tenants must be sure to also include a copy of their steam clean receipt (if carried out by a third party cleaner) & their bond refund information (Bank account details). Keys should be labelled and placed in an envelope before placing in the drop box, as we receive a large number of keys each day. Not labelling the keys correctly will result in delays in the processing your property exit report and bond refund.

How long will my bond take to be refunded?

Bonds are refunded when all rent owing is paid, keys are returned and the room has been returned to the standard of cleanliness/repair it was provided to you in at the start of your tenancy. The RTA has ultimate control over the refund process which can take up to three (3) weeks after the bond refund form is lodged. Please note that RTA policy dictates that bond refunds must be paid into an Australian bank account.

Now's the time to make your move.
